A blog of shadows
Life is funny, you know? Just when you think you might be over and done with something (like this blog or experimenting with game design), you find yourself coming back to it and re-examining it with fresh eyes.
Yes, by ‘you’ I mean ‘I.’ I do that more than I would like, so it is worth keeping in mind when you read this blog. When you read ‘you,’ remember that I just might be talking about myself and not yourself.
Grammar aside, I realize more than ever how appropriate the subtitle of my blog is. I like thinking about the soft, subtle shadows of imagination, about the borderlands where they seem to fade into each other, like cows in the dark, only to emerge again. Like shadows on Plato’s cave, they can present strangely beautiful forms.
Like shadows on Plato’s cave, I don’t want to make too much of them, but appreciate them for what they are, sweet distractions in a world that can be quite harsh.
